No, my point is that I think Apple will continue to do what it's always done, and that those arguing that they'll suddenly treat product announcements differently just because their chips are now supplied by Intel are only speculating.
I admit I'm speculating as well, but my speculation is based on Apple's known prior history, while other's is based on their wet dreams of Core 2 Duo MacBooks, which they've been wanting since before the *original* MacBook was even announced, and which they'll probably complain about once they're actually released anyway, and hold off for the next gen chips.

Don't worry, I say this now -NO MBP CPU UPDATE AT WWDC- or till December for that matter. MBP itself has its own issues to be fixed like overheating, battery life and slower superdrive. I would be happier if they fix these issues instead of putting slightly faster chip and producing more heat and moans. And even if they do, you won't see big difference in performance anyways. So just enjoy your MB while it lasts.
A chip update has NOTHING to do with any outstanding issues, sorry...Apple is fully capable of fixing those (if any) with a better design AND a better chip.

The problem is jailbreking violates the iOS end user license agreement. Apple is just defending themselves. Just as if any person violates an agreement.

IMO, these are the least that Apple can do to keep up with other high performance notebooks in the market. I think new MBP's will arrive one the same day as Photokina although they may not be highlighted at the event.
Please don't mess with the keyboard. The Macbook keyboard wouldn't suit the Macbook Pro.

Given that I have 13 months on my contract remaining, I'd say the chances of Apple releasing a cell phone next month are incredibly hot. I wonder what the early cancellation fee is.... Hmmm.

Congratulations! You have just provided a second independent source of unnatural delay proving Apple is already manufacturing Merom C2D MBPs and that 17" models will ship behind 15" models by a week Monday October 2.
I tihnk this is even better than the first reported unnatural delay. To take almost an entire month form order to delivery is crazy! Apple better have a damn good reason to delay for so long...and I think they do!

Making the mac pro into a 3U format with optional rack mount ear would be ideal. However, to merge the Pro and Server market, I'd like to see:
1. At least 4 Hot Swap drive bays that don't require the unit being removed.
2. Redundant power supply option
3. I'd love for it to be less than 24" deep. Going 3U, this shouldn't be hard at all.

3RU would be 5.25", essentially 3 times the size of an XServe. Seems totally possible. The XServe at the studio where I used to work was one seriously loud box, and that's going to have to change.

I could see the possibility of 8 (or more) drive in more space efficient dual drive trays, although that would be less convenient for hot swap use, as you would have to take a drive offline that you may not want to swap.

If it's going to be delayed that far, that's pretty far into both Verizon and AT&T's LTE rollout. I really hope this new phone has LTE. Apple was massively late to the game with 3G, I really don't want them to be massively late to 4G, too. (aka: I'm waiting for a 4G iPhone to upgrade, and I would rather upgrade sooner than later.)

Why in limbo? The "phone part" of the Iphone is widely acknowledged to be craptastic.
I'm a big proponent of Android, but I will admit that the music player portion isn't exactly the most user friendly. Makes me miss my 3GS.
Hopefully they redesign it a little in future iterations.

He is correct. "PC guys" won't be figuring this out. I am looking forward to Apple's ideas on phones and the keynote comparing it to other phones. It will bring some laughs.

That is the way Lion works. You just run the downloaded installer from the disk image. No need to burn to DVD or USB. The installer runs for a bit in your current OS, then reboots itself to complete the installation.

I, for one, am glad there wasn't an update to the MacBook Pro.
As for the Mac Pro, I am really impressed with everything except the video card. I haven't got the means to get one anytime soon since I just bought my MBP, but it's a great machine. The internals are really great looking. :cool:
