Kangana Ranaut Birthday Bash in Bandra - Kangna Ranaut had planned a birthday party for her great Bandra residence on Tuesday evening (March 22, 2011). Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a blockbuster, turned out to be something rather dkaudly. Salman Khan in a cameo, however, saved the day.

Kangana Ranaut refused to wear the bikini?
Kangana Ranaut refused to wear the bikini?: Kangana Ranaut was game to don a bikini for a scene in director David Dhawan’s comedy film Rascals, but backed out at the last minute.
The shoot was being done in Thailand last week and the male co-stars Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgan were ready for the scene in which Kangana was to emerge from the sea in nothing more than a sexy bikini. Reportedly, Dhawan had discussed the scene with Kangana before and she had not just given her nod but also shopped for the bikini.
But when the time came for Kangs to slip into a two-piece she had second thoughts and refused to do the scene. Several reasons are being cited for her flip-flop. One is that she backed out after learning that in the scene Sanjay and Ajay were supposed to ogle at her. Another is that she was not comfortable in slipping into the two-piece because she has gained weight recently and did not want her flab to be seen.
Whatever the reason, we hear the shoot was stalled for hours after Kangana refused to wear the bikini despite persuasion by the director and co-stars. Not just that, she later left the Thailand shoot mid-way and flew down to Mumbai to promote her film Tanu Weds Manu.
Thankfully, the issue has now been sorted out and we hear that Kangana has at last agreed to wear the bikini.

Kangana Ranaut play an audacious role in 'Tanu Weds Manu'
Kangana Ranaut play an audacious role in 'Tanu Weds Manu': Kangana Ranaut, most popular for playing the ‘girl interrupted’ kind of roles on the big screen will be seen playing a hilariously quirky character in this Friday’s release Tanu Weds Manu.
In the movie, Kangana plays Tanu, a rebellious girl from a small town.
“My character in the film is not glamorous. She is audacious but very lovable character. She is from a very cultured Kanpur family, who has studied in Delhi University. But then she also likes to shock people and have a bit of fun,” Kangana is quoted as saying by a news agency.
The actress added that unlike her previous roles she did not have to do any research for this one because she has known a lot of girls like Tanu.
“I come from the North, I have grown up with people who think like Tanu and also dress up like her. So it was not a role that needed too much research,” she said.
The movie stars Madhavan as Kangana’s NRI suitor. The movie is a romantic comedy about how love gradually takes root between two unlike-minded people.

Madhavan very fond of Kangana Ranaut
Madhavan very fond of Kangana Ranaut: Actor R. Madhavan really enjoyed working with National Award winning actress Kangana Ranaut in 'Tanu Weds Manu', so much so that the multi-lingual star admits he has become fond of her and would like to do more films with the pretty actress.
'I am very fond of Kangana and attracted to her. I feel she is an extremely competent actor, very professional and she has actively contributed to the role for the first time,' Madhavan told IANS.
'As an actor, I have never worked with a heroine who does that. They (other heroines) are happy doing what the script demands from them but Kangana is the one who was pushing the envelope. I hope I can do another film with Kangana, I really enjoyed working with her,' he said.
Madhavan rubbished a media report that said he was angry with Kangana as she was hogging the limelight in the film's promotion.
'Unfortunately, it's wrong news,' he said. 'Kangana is shooting in Bangkok, so she did her character's (Tanu) promotion earlier,' he said.
'There is absolutely no reason to be upset with her and I am really missing her.'
Directed by Anand Rai, 'Tanu Weds Manu' is set to hit theatres Feb 25. It is a romantic comedy, which shows how two seemingly opposite natured people fall in love.
'I don't know why this romantic tag stuck with me for so long.
They (directors) want it, so I give them that. I am not going to fight it. This is a different kind of romantic story. It's not a cliche 'hold my hand and get into a fight' later on kind of story. It's very real and I don't remember if I have seen such a romantic film ever,' said Madhavan, who plays the role of Manu in the film.
About the film, Madhavan said: 'Manu is brought up in a small town in a middle class family, very happy with whatever his parents have in mind for him, no rebellious quality unnecessarily. He goes to London, spends eight to nine years and comes back with his tradition intact, like most Indian guys, who go from a small town, do.
'What happens is you forget that in the span of time of your staying abroad, your town has changed-McDonalds, MTV, all have come in and people are having flings for the sake of it and suddenly there is a complete mismatch in the opposite direction.
'You are an Indian, she is westernized, you are a conformist, she is rebellious and there is a mismatch. But love has its own course.'
The character is semantic to most of the foreign-returned small town guys, said Madhavan. 'It rarely happens that one who goes abroad, returns with a foreigner wife or girlfriend, smoking and speaking with an accent. Ninety percent
come back being more Indian than they were.'
The reigning star of the south is eager to offer varied shades of characters to his Hindi audience.
'In the south, I have done some really dynamic characters, really brutal and masculine ones. Unfortunately, the Hindi guys haven't seen that angry guy in me as yet. So if a script like that comes along, I would really love to do (the role of) an angry young man now,' said Madhavan.
'I think I am competent in comedy. Even 'Tanu Weds Manu' is comical but it has no comedy, it's humorous. But I would love to do a comedy film. I just did a hard-core comedy film in Tamil, which did very well,' said Madhavan.
The actor revealed that he has signed two more Hindi films but refrained from giving any details.

Kangana Ranaut no for kiss by Mika
Kangana Ranaut no for kiss by Mika: Kangana Ranaut plays a feisty girl in the upcoming matrimonial comedy Tanu Weds Manu. But she got cold feet at the idea of kissing the Punjabi singer Mika.
In the movie, Mika has sung a peppy song titled Jugni. It’s a promotional track that was recently shot on the film’s lead actors Kangana and Madhavan with Mika joining in for a jig.
While filming the song, director Anand L Rai came up with the idea of making Mika kiss Kangana at the song’s end, just the way he locked lips with the item girl Rakhi Sawant a few years ago at her birthday.
The antic was intended to be funny, but Kangana wasn’t comfortable in being kissed by Mika. So she told the director to axe the kiss.

Paris Hilton wants Kangna be her brand ambassador
The Hilton heiress is wooing the actress to be Asian brand ambassador for her clothing lineParis Hilton Fashions (PHF) has approached Kangna to be its Asian brand ambassador -- a first for an Indian actress.
Says an insider, "The brand carries Paris' signature style -- fun, flashy, bright. Kangna was short listed because of her edgy approach to fashion. She is considered to be a stylish girl who experiments, takes risks and sets trends."
Whopping fee
The brand researched her films, her approach to clothes, her image etc. before zeroing in on her. It's a good time for the actress. After the success of her latest flick Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, she has been offered a whopping amount to endorse PHF.
Says a source close to the actress, "Nothing is final as yet and if Kangna signs it, it will be her first international fashion brand."
Earlier she has endorsed other clothing brands, including a leading international denim wear but that was limited to India only. At some point Kangna also aspires to start her own clothing line which will be a reflection of her persona.
